TAUHA_KHAN@YAHOO.COM
R: 27, L:20, S:24, W:28I'm dissapointed with this low score and I need your advice on retaking this test. I'm from Pakistan and I have applied to graduate engineering schools of UIUC, UW Madison, Virginia Tech and CU Boulder. Tell me should I reschedule another TOEFL test? ritsos
ritsos
I may be a bit ignorant about this, so can you clarify on what basis you think the scores are low? I think ETS rates scores that are in the 22-30 rangeĀ as "good". So an average score of 90 and above is generally regarded as sufficient. Do any of the universities that you intend to apply to state the required/accepted TOEFL score? I think your overall score is fine (just the listening part that is a bit on the lower side). obviousbicycle
99 is no way a low score. Although the average might be as high as 110 but I think the minimum TOEFL score requirement for those schools (or for Wisconsin at least) is around 92-93, so yours is good enough. I think you should focus more on your LoC, personal statement and even GRE, and not to worry much about your TOEFL.
