Our research team at the UMass Boston Psychology Department has an opening for a full-time Research Coordinator beginning in November, 2013. This individual will coordinate the administration of a study to improve early identification of children with autism spectrum disorders and reduce disparities for children with socio-demographic risk. This study is supported by the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA; PIs Alice Carter and Abbey Eisenhower) and has three phases, including screening and assessment; longitudinal assessment of service utilization; and a parent engagement intervention. The Research Coordinator will also: implement and maintain participant databases; coordinate record keeping and manage the supply of study materials; assisting in the preparation and submission of revisions and updates to the IRB; assist with data collection and assessments with parent and child participants; conduct interviews with parents and study activities with children as part of data collection for the research study; analyze and enter research data; participate in staff meetings; and other duties as assigned. The Coordinator may also have opportunities to be involved in presentation/writing projects if desired.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a closely related field, with significant Psychology coursework, is required. Additional clinical or research experience is strongly preferred, as are strong organizational skills. Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish. Previous experience with ADOS (autism diagnosis tool) is preferred.

Interested applicants can apply through http://umb.interviewexchange.com (look for position described as “Research Assistant” in the Psychology Dept).  Contact Abbey Eisenhower (abbey.eisenhower@umb.edu) or Alice Carter (alices.carter@umb.edu) with questions (rather than responding on this forum). Review of candidates will begin following the application closing date. Closing date for applications: October 4, 2013
