When a prof said we are currently seeking graduate students?

While I was surfing I found this statement in some lab's official websites, We are currently seeking graduate students, Please contact Dr. X, or we are looking for a motivated grad student to work on X project, and the research interests of the PI matche mine, though I am not applying till next fall should I contact him/ her now?
