Wisconsin Madison Vs Michigan Ann Arbor Comp. Arch

Well the title says it all. I have admits to PhD CS at Wisconsin Madison and MS CSE at Michigan Ann Arbor. No financial aid in both places. Which would be a better university for computer architecture wrt research? Even at UMich. most probably I'll end up pursuing a PhD post the MS.

They are both great schools. But I think Wisc is better in computer architecture research. They have some well known professors doing interesting work over there. I would say If money is no problem for you then go to Wisconsin. Otherwise you can go to Michigan and apply again after you get you MS.

Wisconsin has some big names in Data Storage. It kind of depend on where your research interests are.
