Anyone going to the AAAs this week? Any panels you're excited about?!

I'll be there! I'll be volunteering at the job placement center on Thursday--it gives me free entry for the rest of the weekend!

I'm very excited to meet a few of my POIs and to see their presentations. However, there is so very little archaeology at the AAAs. I'm sure it'll still be a treat!

Yeah, I'll be there, too! Luckily for me, there is a good amount of linguistic anthropology, latin american anthropology, and indigenous anthropology. I'm so excited!

Very neat! Hopefully you'll get the chance to check out the city too! : )

Yay.  I'll be going too!!!  While I agree with anthropologygeek, there are still some very good physical anthropology sessions dealing with bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology.  Plus I get to meet two of my POIs for sure.  :)  Getting so excited.  My friends and I will be there Thursday morning...we're leaving at 1am Thursday morning and driving from Ohio to Chicago.  :)

Fan- I also don't have time to go to more than 2-3 conferences a year. And I want them paid for so it would be pretty insane to present or poster at more than 2-3 a year

So jealous of those attending! I'd love to hear thoughts on panels, keynotes, etc., especially from archaeologists. I may apply to poster or present(!) at next year's meeting, but I haven't actually been to AAAs yet, so I'm not sure what kinds of topics, crowds (sizes or personalities), dress code, etc. to expect.
