edeustua Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Hi! I've been reading posts about this same issue around the forum, but I'm still not sure what to do. I'm a peruvian chemistry student looking to apply for a PhD in chemistry. I scored 155V and 161Q in the general GRE (which I think is ok) but got a really bad chemistry subject score 720 53%. My question is, should I send the subject score anyway? Most of the universities I'm applying to don't require it, but they "strongly recommend it". Thanks in advance for any comments or advice.
H Bond Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Hey, I'm a US chemistry student. I got fairly comparable scores GRE scores with an abysmal 670 (39%) on the Chemistry GRE. If you've still got time, I think you should send your scores. If your grades are good enough elsewhere, it shouldn't matter too much what your scores are, and it's better to send average scores to the admissions committee than let them wonder if you're hiding even worse scores. You've still got a fighting chance.
Fun_Cookie Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Uh no. I did horrid on my bio GRE subject test. Did not send that and got interviews with Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. Please don't send bad scores. Justin123 and Fun_Cookie 1 1
