rockbabe1317 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Hello everyone! I'd like to retake the GRE (I've only taken it once; 153 Q 158 V & 4 AW) I wasn't unhappy with my scores until I received the writing one… and now I'd like to retake it. If I retake it now, there's no way that my very prestigious dream school/long shot will receive the scores before the application deadline. I do think that they would receive them before the beginning of their next semester, though. It's a very competitive PhD program, and my current scores are just below what their admitted grad students have scored. I assume that my scores will get me into the other master's program that I am applying to next month. If I retake the GRE, will adcomms receive/look at my newer scores even if they arrive after the application deadline?
iogburu Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Honestly, it depends on the school. I am in a similar situation with my new GRE scores. I would recommend contacting the program you are applying to in order to see if they would be willing to accept your new scores. Some schools will have no problem with doing this, while others will simply state that they will not.
