GRE score reporting on test day (without sending)

Hey, I know the title seems confusing but that's what I did. After I took my GRE with a bit of confident, I clicked on the "send scores" button. I was horrified to see that my scores were really bad, so I skip the part where you choose a school to send the score.

Now when I see on the website, it says that the scores are "absent or unavailable". Does it mean that I will have the scores even though I did not send them on the test day? I mean... will it stay in my record......? I am screwed................

Can somebody help me? :(

Did you just recently take the test? If I remember correctly, although you do see "unofficial" scores at the end of the test, they won't appear in your online GRE account until you get all your official scores (e.g. after your AW section is graded).

In any case, unless something went wrong, once you choose to see the score, they will be in your profile for the next 5 years. However, when you submit score reports to the schools, you don't have to submit every single score in your profile! It sounds like you want to redo the GRE? So you can do that and if you do better the second time around, you can choose to submit your second set of scores only--if you do worse, you can choose to submit your first set of scores only!

When did you take the test? I think in most cases, your score will show on your GRE account only after the AWA score is in, so in the meantime, they show it as "absent or unavailable." If I remember correctly, right after the test you have the option of cancel or keep your score, i.e. it will show on your official record; then they show you your V & Q score, then let you pick institutions to send score reports to. So yes I think you will have the score on your record but no report will be sent.

Ah I see that I'm a minute behind TakeruK. Oh well :)
