Anyone on it? How did you find out? Did you find out where on the waitlist you are, and when you would know your status by? Also, what field are you?

Also, has anyone gotten an official rejection by any means other than calling the department? My status online hasn't updated and is still no decision!

I haven't heard yet, either, still says "No decision" on the website. Which at this point I pretty much know to mean a rejection, but it would be nice to know for sure. Even if I were to be accepted, by some bizarre chance, there's no way I could visit the program before April 15. I pretty much know where I'm going, and would like to count Rutgers as a definite "no." At least I can comfort myself in knowing that I wouldn't want to attend a program which is so rude and inefficient in telling people of their decision status.

Got an email telling me I'm on the waitlist, and my status on the webpage hasn't changed. As I posted to the other thread, I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to go to Rutgers, so if you don't please let them know soon! You know, no pressure or anything.

I still see "no decision" on my status page and I haven't heard from them. I think if I haven't heard by the end of the week I should call them and find out what's going on.

I just called Rutgers, and was told that I'm on the waitlist, and they plan to notify people who are waitlisted by April 15th.

Has anyone heard anything more from Rutgers yet?

I don't think we'll hear anything more until after April 15, though if we'll lucky we might hear a day or two before. Remember that they need to hear from those they've extended offers to before they can deal with us. And as far as finding out how the waitlist process works, it's my understanding that they don't like to give out too many details, so I wouldn't anticipate hearing a whole lot about that at all.

Yeah, they said they would let people know "by April 15th." I'm hoping for sooner rather than later, my family is starting to pressure me to accept another offer.

Right. I think what they meant by that is that they are planning to notify people that they're on the waitlist, making sure to notify everyone by April 15. Decisions to come later, after all admitted students have accepted or declined.

I'm pretty sure that what they told me was they planned to let people on the waitlist know if they were accepted or rejected by the 15th. But yeah, it might be later. I just want this to be over with. I don't particularly care if Rutgers accepts me or not.

Dear Rutgers,

I regret to inform you that your pseudo waitlist/acceptance has been formally rejected. This was a particularly tough and competitive season, and I received many excellent applications and offers of admission. Unfortunately, you simply do not meet the ambiguous, subjective and undefined predetermined "fit" requirements I've established. Rutgers, you made me like Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink and I do not appreciate that. I always loathed her for waiting around for Blaine when Ducky was so perfect, so right. You, Rutgers, are my Blaine even though you are not good looking, preppy, wealthy or popular. And so, I bid you a fond farewell because I have a prom to get ready for.

PS-

You won't know this decision, at least not until you call and ask, and even then I will be vague and unresponsive.

Bad news, no matter when they plan on notifying. I was informed today that, due to a combination of the number of acceptances they've received and the budget cuts necessitated by the crappy economy, Rutgers does not anticipate moving to the waitlist and making a second round of offers. At all. :(

I wish they would just get around to telling everyone who is waitlisted that then.

They didn't contact me, and actually haven't for any of this stuff. I've gotten answers from them because I've asked. Today I asked what my chances of admission were, and that's what I was told - and I wasn't the only one. Someone else on the board did that today as well, and received the same answer.

*Sigh*

People really shouldn't have to call them to get this information. I guess I'll call them tomorrow or Wednesday. I've already called them several times to get what little information I have.

In case anyone still cares (which, from the tone of this board, they may not), I declined a place at Rutgers yesterday. Not sure if their waitlist is subject specific or not, if they're even taking anyone from it. Good luck if you're still hoping, though!

I care very much! Sorry you won't be there, but I'm happy that maybe, just maybe I can have a chance. Good luck at (I presume) Ohio State!

I checked last night and saw I was rejected. Finally. I never thought I'd actually be pleased to get a rejection, but after waiting for four and a half months with no unsolicited communication from the department, it was a relief.
