jjwaq Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 As I was reviewing stats from other topics, it seemed like there were a lot of undergraduates. Anyone applying out of an MA program?
MattDest Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I'm applying from an MA institution, and I'll - hopefully - have my MA this spring.
jjwaq Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 I guess I should say, I also have an MA (will finish after this semester). Hard to say for sure but I think it improved my app quite a bit.
objectivityofcontradiction Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I have an MA from a European University, attened a large state school in the U.S. for my undergrad.
Rollontheground Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I'm 3/4 through an MA in Church History. It certainly helped, but I don't think as much as a Philosophy MA would have.

Rollontheground Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I felt I missed out on Religion in Undergrad, and if I applied straight to a Ph.D. in Phil (and if I somehow got in), I'd constantly be asking myself whether I'd be happier in a Religion Ph.D. Besides, it's interesting to see all the different ways one can argue that three actually equals one!
