I received an offer of funding from The University of Tennessee today. I declined that offer, and I have decided to attend UC Santa Cruz.

I was also rejected from the wait-list yesterday. I suppose I should update my signature!

Is anyone thinking of declining an offer from the University of Tennessee? I'm on the wait-list for funding, and I would love to receive a funding package there.

Accepted to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, but wait-listed for funding (so….wait-listed?).

Official rejection from Loyola, Chicago. I received an email telling me to check the website.

It sounds like they gave your writing sample a pretty serious read. I think that's a good sign. I've always been curious at how closely adcomms read writing samples. A school like UPENN must get at least 200+ serious applications.

Accepted, with funding, to UC Santa Cruz yesterday. What a relief to know that I'm going to continue studying philosophy for the next 5 or so years.

I'm expecting (more) radio silence this weekend. I'm still waiting on U Tennessee and U South Carolina. Does anyone have any news on these schools?

Being a bother, Does anyone plan on declining an acceptance/wait-list at Tennessee or South Carolina?

Received a rejection via post from the University of Georgia. I have it from an inside source that the department offers funding for to up to four students when it can, but usually only offers funding to one student each year.

I got an email, unsolicited and generic.

My last shot at a good ol' fashioned acceptance is South Carolina (I suspect I've been rejected from Vanderbilt).

Every time I see that you've posted in this thread I think "man, I hope he/she got in somewhere" (that goes for a lot of you folks!).
