Congrats to those who received the UNC and Duke acceptances. It seems a few (or is it just one) of our regulars were among the Duke acceptances. Were any of you among the UNC acceptances?

Well, it's also true that my friends didn't leave an academic job at Harvard for their positions. ha.

For what it's worth, I have plenty of friends who are financially comfortable (though modest) and happy as can be lecturing in philosophy or gaining tenure at a community college.

Yes! Although, I would put other moral/political philosophers before him if I were to list moral/political philosophers I'm interested in. Funny enough, I'm more interested in Rawls than Kant.

In the past, the conference was a joint conference hosted by both the North and South Carolina's respective philosophy associations. I wonder what motivated the split. Any ideas?

There's another Rutgers acceptance posted. There are no stats, and so there's no telling whether it's fake. Can anyone claim it? It's pretty early in the season. I'm skeptical.
