Anybody around here applying with an M.Phil degree?

Just wondering.

No, but quick question - I'm applying to a few MPhils and I'm trying to grasp the structure of those programs. What was the duration of yours? / Was it taught v. research?

I guess the structure must vary, depending on the department and University. For us, it was one year of pure course-work. We took four papers over two semesters in the span of one year - on Concepts in Philosophy, Methods in Philosophy, Self-Knowlede and Existential Phenomenology & it's engagements. Another year was spent coming up with tentative proposals for dissertation, finalising on synopsis after several presentations to the faculty and students and then just writing our dissertations (Approx. 30,000 words).
