philosophe Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 No, but quick question - I'm applying to a few MPhils and I'm trying to grasp the structure of those programs. What was the duration of yours? / Was it taught v. research? Thanks in advance!
murial Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 I guess the structure must vary, depending on the department and University. For us, it was one year of pure course-work. We took four papers over two semesters in the span of one year - on Concepts in Philosophy, Methods in Philosophy, Self-Knowlede and Existential Phenomenology & it's engagements. Another year was spent coming up with tentative proposals for dissertation, finalising on synopsis after several presentations to the faculty and students and then just writing our dissertations (Approx. 30,000 words).
