Did anyone else apply to Anthropology at UBC? I wonder if anyone else's online application still shows as 'incomplete' despite all the materials having been received. In my case, it shows some materials as received, and some as not received, although they were all sent together in one envelope.

I've contacted the department twice in the past 2 weeks and gotten no responses. They're also the only program, of all the schools I applied to who required submission of printed application materials by mail. Still, wondering if this is just how it works there, or if this is unusual?

Hey Canis! I also applied to UBC, though my application is for an MA (not sure if yours is PhD, so the situations might be different). I thought it was really unusual that they wanted some things by mail...seems a bit outdated. I just checked my status and everything is marked complete.

However, if you sent everything in the same package it sounds more like an administrative error on their part. Maybe they are having problems with the online system and the admin is backed up trying to fix everything? In any case, don't stress too much:) If they received part of the envelope, they must have received the whole.

Thanks for the reply! PhD app, strangely they list some documents as received and others as not, but they were all in one package.

Agreed, it's so strange they wanted printed documents, and then I suppose they'all photocopy them. Agreed, it seems so outdated.

Did you also submit TA application?

If it makes you feel any better, even though I'm not in the same field, when I applied to UBC MSc programs as a UBC undergraduate, I had to order physical transcripts from the UBC registrar, then mail them back to UBC, basically =/

CUNY also asks printed documents, never understood why...

I had the same "incomplete" status problem. In my case the GRE (which, for some reason, is listed twice on the application list - once under Education Tests and once under Supporting Materials) was listed as Received in supporting material and Not Received in the Education Tests bracket. It was quite weird. Luckily they quickly fixed it after I contacted them.

Now, though, my status is- Pending completion - final transcript & conferral, anybody has a clue what it means?
