okay, I lied (but who the heck would know that???).

But : (1) You post this at the wrong place, should be whatever thread Engineering people post at

(2) You don't need to up vote your own question to get people to notice it

(3) Your question is too vague: how good is your research background? Publication? Recommendation letters?...

(4) No one would know exactly what your chances are. Someone might give you some advices on how to strengthen your application, but then you just need to apply and see!

FYI:  You can also look at the "Results Search" at the topic of the website and type in your area of concentration and sort by school.  Unfortunately, there was only 1 post with stats for U of Alberta. (hover over the read diamond to see stats).  Good Luck :)

It's not even worth the effort. This is GradCafe for you. This is how it works:

1. International student creates a GradCafe account at X:30

2. He/she creates a vague thread saying "How are my chances?" at X:35

3. He/she signs out at X:40 and never signs in again, not even bothering to check his/her thread

4. Someone puts more effort into trying to help than the poster put into creating the thread

And someone signs in, randomly joins the chat room, asks you to review and edit their SoP, you spend 45 minutes editing and perfecting their letter and ask for their email address, and they never bother to reply to your message
