mdiv2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 consult with a faculty member who is not on the adcom because they have an expertise in the applicant's experience / field of study? call references for more information? (and why?) look up publications the applicant has listed? do a google/facebook/linked in/you tube search on the applicant? (if so, what are they looking for that is positive?)

mdiv2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 a week after i submitted my application, the hit count on one of my book sites (listed on my cv) spiked from normal 20 hits a day to over 200 and stayed there for 4 days. but now that the adcom has my packet the hit count is normal and steady i wonder if a student reader or an ad dept reviewer made it go viral??????? you think?
Instanoodle Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I have an adcoms question specific to MAs. On 2 apps that asked, I noted that I was planning on applying for a small outside grant and I name the fund. In a stroke of genius I missed the fund's deadline and can no longer apply. This was completely out of character, but that's neither here nor there. Now I have a pit in my stomach that I may have misrepresented myself on my apps and that adcoms may follow up to see if I actually applied for the grant. The point of applying to the grant was to show that I'm willing to put in the extra effort, but now I feel sloppy and scummy. Any thoughts on whether or not I should call each school and let them know that I did not apply for the grant? I'm leaning toward calling at this point. Thanks in advance.
Instanoodle Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Never mind on my question, all. Problem solved itself!
