pyroknife Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) UMich - 28K Stipend for 12 months, tuition+health insurance+some other things covered. Cornell - 31k Stipend for 12 months, tuition+health insurance+some other things covered. I thought PhDs typically receive stipends around 20k? Then again, I don't know the cost of living in ann arbor and ithaca. Though I am under the impression that these places aren't very expensive to live at. Edited February 8, 2014 by pyroknife
intirb Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 For engineering, that sounds about right. Obviously cost of living is pretty cheap in those areas, so that's a huge bonus. Nice! You can find baseline MIT graduate student stipend information here, for comparison: https://gsc.mit.edu/programs-initiatives/col/ It's a range from 25k to 36k, though admittedly in a much highest cost of living area.
