inatcup Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) I've been accepted to Santa Clara University (MFT), University of San Francisco (MFT), USC School of Social Work (with an MSW Scholarship), am a finalist at California School of Professional Psychology (MFT), and am eagerly awaiting a decision from San Francisco State's MSW program.Does anyone have any advice or input on any of these schools? I'm really torn between USC and SFSU MSW program (hoping/assuming I get in). So far I think SFSU would be the best fit for me, but USC is....well...USC. Price tag included. Happy waiting everybody! iphi Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) I'm a bit confused by your title, you say MSW vs. MFT but you just mentioned MSW in your post? Anyway, I went to USF and really can not say enough good things about it! PM me know if you have any questions about it. Also, I also looked at USC MSW and think that there is no way it's worth the price tag! Edited February 13, 2014 by iphi
inatcup Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Santa Clara University, University of San Francisco and California School of Professional Psychology are all MFT programs. Sorry for the mix up. I'm really interested in USF's MFT program, and am seriously considering attending there, but I was told that for financial aid packages they won't be giving out any institutional aid this year to MFTs, which will leave me in some serious debt.

This is true, do not expect any help from them, although there are frequently departmental scholarships which will give you tuition toward a few classes. I would have assumed, however, given the other schools to which you applied, that funding was not a big deal? The other two aren't exactly known for funding either. Still, if you can get it, I advocate going where the money is!!
