wanderlust Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 I am an international student switching from engineering to public policy - I am interested in eventually working at a thinktank or multilateral organization doing international development type stuff. I am trying to decide between the MPP program at GPPI & the MA at the Elliott School (GW). Anyone have an opinion - are there any IDev rankings available ? I know G'town seems to have a slight edge in terms of prestige but the comparisons I have seen are usually made between GPPI & Trachtenburg. What bout between GPPI & Elliott ? Grateful for any input ! These are trying times ... can't wait to be done with the decision already :-)

traveler06 Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Honestly, they are all good programs. I think what is important to remember is that the fit is immensely important. Students can choose schools based on rankings, but will be miserable if it is not the place where they will thrive and be happy. Happy is important in this decision, because the happier you are, the harder you will work. Don't discount how hard you work because it is your work ethic that you'll need to stand on - a school's name has limited tractability.
