xiaohang Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I've got official admissions from physics at UCB and EE at Princeton. I am now an undergraduate in physics department but want to research in nanotechnology or magnetism. Both physics department and EE have this direction, where should I go? It seems that Princeton's EE ranking is not very good, any reasons? Thanks. xiaohang 1
skyentist Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Go to Berkeley. Better weather and surrounding area and Princeton is over-rated. But that is just my honest opinion. I would say visit both and go where you find most comfortable.
hikaru1221 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Princeton EE seems to have the tendency to select students with undergrad backgrounds different from EE. It's a good thing that they focus on the science side of engineering, but I think it loses the advantage when being on the same table with Berkeley physics. Princeton also seems to be a small place, which limits choices and cross-faculty collaboration.
