Still waiting on an official decision from UMD, but I figured I'd get a thread started for those of us applying to/admitted to the University of Minnesota at either the Twin Cities or Duluth campus this fall!

Hey there!

I was admitted to U of M Twin Cities (Carlson School of Management) and will be attending this fall!  Are there any others that have been admitted and are planning on attending?

Hi Easy-joy!

Good to hear someone else who is in my program!  Will you be attending in the fall or are you considering other options?

@Easy-joy

I'm still waiting on UIUC, but I'm pretty set on MN.

@Inka dreams

I got a phone call on Feb 7th letting me know I was accepted.  If I recall, they said they would let applicants know end-of-February to beginning-of-March, so don't fret!

Correct ,no funding at all. Rutgers also gave me the approval. See it will be same story.

I can't agree with you more on  this.

I hope you have heard or hear good news from UMD.  I did my MA there, though in a different field, and really liked it.  Also in love with the city. :)

I see you're at least local on the state-level, but if you need any info about Duluth, please feel free to PM.

No news yet..I e-mailed one of the POIs last week and they told me that the committee was still trying to nail down a time to meet and review files. So hopefully this week is the week!! I'm from the Twin Cities, but I've visited Duluth a few times. I may have a few questions, however! When I brainstorm them, I'll PM.

Well, best of luck.  It's a neat school.

also, by the time you get there, we should have both a Panera and a Chipotle, so things have significantly improved. :)

Thank you! Interestingly enough, UMD was one of my top choices for my undergrad school. So maybe this is a twist of fate that Id be pursuing my graduate studies here instead?. I admittedly don't know too much about places to go off-campus, so if you had any insight on that, that would be much appreciated. :)

Hi @ArcherSterling I really wanted to attend but ticket prices to Minnesota right now are ridiculous :(

Aww, that's too bad!  Would you be flying international or domestic?  I was hoping I'd find someone here who'd go as well.

Domestic, will be coming from Texas. I won't make it that weekend but i plan on going up there sometime in May or June. Have you decided on Carlson?

Posted

I'm pretty set on Carlson.  They've given me the most generous aid package and the program seems to be a good fit for me.  I'm really just using this opportunity to visit the campus and talk to the staff.  Are you set on Carlson?  Or are you considering other options?

I also received an aid package as well and it happens to be the best program out of all the schools i applied to. Yes, i have already accepted my admission offer. I am hoping that when i eventually visit later on, i will still get to meet and talk to some of the staff.
