EECS@UC Irvine Vs CS@ASU

Hi all,

I have been admitted into the PhD programs at UC Irvine (EECS) and at ASU (CS). Unfortunately I was not able to secure any funding at the time of admission.

I have a professor contact at ASU who seemed interested in me and funding may work out once I go there but I do not have any such contacts in UC Irvine.

Now I have to decide if funded PhD @ ASU is better than UC Irvine without funding. I would really appreciate your inputs on this as I need to make a decision by this week.

As I understand if the funding factor is overlooked then UC Irvine is a better school then ASU ? Please confirm.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best regards,
