AMITD Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Hi All, I`m an Israeli student, just graduating with a B.A in psychology from the TEL AVIV College. I`m interested in doing my masters in psychology back at the states, however, i`m a bit worried of the GRE exam since english is not my mothertongue so i`m considering a few schools that to not require GRE, I`ll be glad to hear any opinion you have for any of those! BROOKLYN COLLEGE- NY TOURO COLLEGE- NY IONA COLLEGE-NY UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAVEN- CT FAIRFIELD UNIVERSITY- CT Any other suggestions will be great I have a 2 years experience in the HR field and a GPA of 3.00 Much appreciated. glipsus Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Not about your question, but don't be so afraid of GRE. You needlessly cut off many great schools by this decision. I can say that it is absolutely real to pass GRE even if you are not a native speaker. English is not my native language, but I managed to do that with good results. Good luck to you either way
Cognitive Couch Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I would advise you to give it a try, I you really want to enter a particular University that attracts your attention but requieres a GRE examination go for it and have a plan B in case you need it. As I see it, you have nothing to loose by trying, there's a plan B just in case. By the way, have you considered options to study in Europe, there are great Universities in Europe that won't probably requiere the GRE and have very good reputation. Just something else for you to consider as option or plan C maybe? Best wishes,
spunky Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) same here. I am (well was, until very recently) an international student and English is not my first language but managed to get decent GRE scores to get in gradschool. i think you can do well if you take the time to study and prepare Edited March 20, 2014 by spunky
