Catlovers141 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I am waiting to hear back from one of my top choices for an MSW program and I'm feeling really anxious. I'm trying to find something new to do over the next month or two to help keep me busy. I have a full time job, so I am busy during the day but my mind is often wandering even then. I would like to find something fun that I could maybe get excited about, so that my mind is more likely to wander to that than to obsessing about grad school decisions that are now out of my control. Anyone have any ideas, or any input on what has worked for them?
I am not sure yet Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 In my opinion, there's no escape from suffering. You can find ways to get distracted for a few hours, like, watching a movie, going on a walk, taking pictures, whatever. But in the end of the day, there will be this little voice in the back of your head, keeping you awake. Well, at least that's how I am now! =P
Catlovers141 Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 I definitely believe that! I just don't want to accept it, lol! Glad I'm not the only one.
anxietycrochet Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I feel you, like my name indicated, I recently learned how to do knitting and crochet. I've never tried these techniques before, and in last 5 days, I made 3 balls for my cats and finishing scarf right now. For me, this waiting-without-deadlines anxiety is sometimes so overwhelming that I am having trouble focusing one my present stuffs - research projects.. Maybe changing hobbies like me maybe work? but then again, this kind of pain is just unavoidable....
Catlovers141 Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 I like your ideas! I know how to knit and have been making a blanket. But I agree with you that it is still sometimes hard to concentrate on what is currently happening.
