hi,

I have applied for PhD in the field of solid state devices.

I got offer from NUS with fellowsip. Fellowship amound being 3000 S dollars.

I have another offer from Virginia Tech. RAship amount is 1500 dollars.

Work and professors at both the places are very good. Work is of my interest at both the places.

My future goal is to join academics in India or as a researcher in some research center.

Which one should I choose that aligns with my goal.

Thanks

Raka

How does the fellowship/RA amount compare to the cost of living in each place? My understanding is that Singapore is very expensive so 3000 dollars may not be enough to meet your needs. In that case, I'd go with VA Tech so you don't have to worry about debt or loans.
