Will I Get Funding?

I was accepted into Masters program in Clinical Psychology by a school that offers funding for graduate assistants; however, I have not been awarded a position yet. When I emailed the department's contact person, I was told that the department has my grad assistant application (which I sent with the rest of my application stuff) and they will let me know if I get a position by May.

 

I really need funding or I will not be able to go at all. I am still waiting to hear from another school I was waitlisted at, but I haven't heard back from them and the school I was accepted into needs an acceptance from me by April 11th.

 

Is this normal for schools or does this mean I will most likely get no funding?
