speechpath6 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 does anyone know the steps for working in ny/nyc if i dont go to school there
Sunshine5535 Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I am curious too! I am relocating for school but will probably be back in NYC to work...
QS05 Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I was also wondering this and tried researching online but still couldn't figure it out. It seems like a pain to get a NY license if you go to school out of state and there's also the TSSLD that you'd need to obtain I think. In the end I've decided to go to a school in state but I know not everyone has that option. I'm still curious though as what it would take to get a license in NY from out of state.
LuxAurorae Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) I don't really know either. I have the same issue. Edited April 18, 2014 by LuxAurorae
daisynic Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I am also confused by this! I have my initial certificate for TSSLD, but it is only provisional until I complete my masters program. My undergraduate school provided the classes and a track to get the certification once completed your bachelors, and then you have 5 years to get the professional certificate. I'm not sure how it works, though. Not sure if I will be back to NY immediately following my masters, but since I have family there I definitely want to have the cert.
