  1. Thanks @BogenBroward @beamfurr @CommishMDK @ChipLaMarca @stacyritter & Mayor Ryan for taking the first step to bring Uber back to Broward
  2. Hi All, I was wondering if anyone knows anyone who has transferred programs or knows of schools that allow this? I am currently doing my masters at an out of state school but am planning a wedding in my home state of NY and just want to weigh my options because it could put a strain on my relationship. I didn't get in anywhere other than out of state at the time :-/ Any thoughts would help!
  3. Anyone have any ideas which programs accept transfer students from other SLP grad programs? Like if someone needs to move across the country, anyone know of options?
  4. Hi all I am not attending Syracuse U but my best friend lives there for graduate school and I have visited her many times. She loves her apartment complex and is very happy with her choice. It's spacious, friendly and clean. It's called Nob Hill. You might want to check that out!
  5. Someone created a Fall '14 and Winter '15 group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/NovaSpeechFA14/ I'm not sure if Fall 2015 has a separate one though
  6. I am curious too! I am relocating for school but will probably be back in NYC to work...
  7. Def agree with you - Stanford is not even spelled correctly in the signature. Just sayin'
  8. Anyone have the FB group for Nova Southeastern's Fall program?
  9. Thanks for your input!! I certainly will. Anyone else have any suggestions on where to look in Davie? Any info would help!!
  10. Hi I recently had an interview at Hunter about a week and a half ago for Counseling - specifically School but the interview included everyone within the umbrella of Counseling including MH and Rehab. They said we should know by around next week I believe
  11. Thank you sooo much for backing me up on this. It's so nice to have answers. Thanks to all for your responses you def helped ease my mind as well. Greyhound don't give up. This is my 3rd yr applying I had to make a plan b and plan C in the last couple years. But this year so far I do have 1 acceptance but my top choice is Kean. Keep going you can do it!!! Never give up on yourself
  12. Congratulations to you all!!! I am still waiting. Trying to not have a panic attack. Can I ask do they indicate when u need to let them know by in their letters to you? Just wondering if they will be sending responses out in batches. The big April 15 deadlines coming soon so I'm wondering what their plan is...
  13. Thanks guys for your responses gave me some encouragement
  14. Does anyone have any information about deferring a grad program? Do most schools allow it, where can someone find out this kind of info? I have been accepted to Nova but it is out of state for me and I am still trying to figure some personal things out before committing. If given an option, perhaps starting a bit later would be helpful. I don't really want to ask the school directly because I don't want to come off as sounding negative because I am SO beyond thrilled to be accepted, but I am just unsure right now... Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  15. I called them about a week ago and they said the faculty were sitting down this week to do applications. Hopefully within a week we will be hearing back. I went to their open house last year around this time and spoke with a current student there, toured the clinic. Its absolutely beautiful. They recently moved to a new area from what I remember and everything is state of the art. I hear the faculty is very helpful too. I spoke with several of their faculty members over the summer and they have been really great. Haven't heard negatives from anyone I know but who knows. Seems like a great place to study to me.
  16. Anyone know anything about Kean??? Soooo stressed
  17. I am also waiting on William P... hope they start back up soon!
  18. Are you referring to the CSDCAS website? Because that's how I applied for WPU and from what I know there's no way to check status through that - it's really just a middle man that forwards your app over and the schools are responsible for the rest unfortunately
  19. Boy oh boy, do I need help! Fast version of my complicated story: for the past 3 years I have been applying to programs in Speech Pathology. My background is not in the same field, but my grades are decent, I volunteered in different related settings, and took pre-requisite classes and did well in them. I also have been working as a teacher for the past two years, now in a school for learning disabilities. However, up until this year none of this did the trick and got me into any schools. I've applied locally and far, and now FINALLY after so much time I have been admitted to a school!!!! I am still waiting on 2 schools but I am super excited nonetheless!!!! On the flip side, over the past year I have discovered another field through my work that I thought I would also really like: school counseling. I love what they do and how great a resource they are for children. I decided I had to be prepared in case I was rejected yet again from Speech and find another interest and applied. I was accepted at one school and recently interviewed at another! My problem is, I keep hearing the field of School Counseling is very very hard to secure a job in and I really don't want to waste my time and money in a program that will not give me a solid career. Even though I do like it and am interested. Speech has always been my first choice and it certainly has a wonderful career at the end, although the school I have been accepted to is a bit far away and would require a life change. I just feel like my head is going to explode - I want to make a good decision for myself and do what makes me happy but I am so confused! Can anyone help?
  20. I have an interview for a school counseling grad program coming up VERY soon and was wondering if anyone had any insight to share on what to expect? I am new to this field and don't know many people to ask for advice. All I know is its a group interview lasting about an hour with 2 faculty members and other interviewees. Never been part of a group interview either so even advice for that would be helpful. Any thoughts?!
  21. Thanks for your input, that was reassuring. I appreciate it
  22. Why does UCF take forever to answer?!!! I see some people are getting random emails of their admissions decision. Why is this taking forever!!!
  23. Thanks for the info!!! That was really helpful. Good luck to you
  24. Ah the suspense is killing me good luck to you too!
