I've been accepted by the University of Vienna's Master of Arts in Human Rights programme and the European Inter-University's E.MA in Human Rights and Democratisation for fall 2014. Can anyone offer any advice? I like the structure of the University of Vienna's programme, but the only thing putting me off is the price tag. Any advice for applying for grants for this fall or the following year if I defer the offer?

Thank you!

No idea about the said programs but have you considered doing an MA (or LLM) in Human Rights Law instead of just MA in Human Rights?

Hey mpittman, what did you finally deceide? Maybe we will meet on friday. I am one of the students of the Vienna MA. I do know that both Master Programs are well connected to each other and share one field trip to Kosovo together. Here is a great project, which developed from these two master programs www.uhrsn.org (i contributed to it as well).

I personally believe that especially for non-lawyers a two years study is beneficial. The studying period in both programs is quite challenging and the time is hardly enough to familiarize with the legal terminology as a non-lawyer. The lecturers of both programs are great. I can recommend the Vienna program, but the E.MA is also a top program.

The Website www.uhrsn.org will also give you an overview of the papers, which are produced in these programs, as it facilitates a student publication database. Enjoy the good read! And please connect to us, if you have any questions. I am totally sure somebody will reply.
