Amani391 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Dear All, I have recently graduated from the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan (Located in the Middle-East), I am holding a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, I'm planning to apply for the UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA, MSc engineering management thesis based program, mechanical engineering department. Application deadlines 15/September 2014 My overall GPA is 2.99/4.0 , but I got strong reference letters, and I'm taking my TOEFL exam on 20/6/2014, my English is very good I'm not worried about the TOEFL but I'm concerned with my GPA preventing me from getting in My question is will taking a GRE improve my chances? since they do not require GRE "Do you require the GRE Test? No, we do not require this test." Please any one with knowledge and experience let me know what else can I do to improve my chances to get in, and how can I contact professors in a way that would support the acceptance of my application? Thank you all in advance
ahlatsiawa Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 (edited) Send them an email asking whether or not your scores will be added to your application file if you take the test. Other than that I would suggest going through the faculty profile pages and contacting those whose research areas align with your interests. If you have published any papers or attended conferences include them in your resume and/or SoP. All the best! Edited May 6, 2014 by ahlatsiawa
