slphopefully Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I've been thinking about investing in an iPad for grad school and wanted to know if people had an opinion about the regular vs mini. Is the mini too small? Any input would be appreciated!
QS05 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I currently have the mini! I don't find it too small at all however I do tend to like smaller phones and laptops so maybe that's just me. My mom had the regular one and I don't see too much of a difference but find it easier to carrier the mini and it's cheaper too! If you can go into an Apple store near you and check the two out! They usually have they both on display and you can play around with them and see which one you like better.
hopeful2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I like my full size. If you want to use it with clients the mini doesn't have as many applications as the regular ipad.
MaxSLP Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Nexus 7 is better than any iPad Would you mind expanding on this? I'm contemplating buying a tablet and I know very little about the non-Mac tablets, but I'm curious. What do you use the nexus 7 for and what do you like about it?
Stephanie2323 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I don't know anything about the Nexus 7, but I love my Ipad!! I really like the larger screen for myself, and I also always see SLP's using the reg. sized one. If they used the smaller one during bigger therapy sessions, the children at the end of the table would probably have a difficult time seeing.
hopeful2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I will always recommend the ipad if you want to use it clinically because most of the applications haven't been converted to non apple formats. Other tablets are great if you just want it for note taking, reading, internet and popular games. But like I said, if you want to be using it clinically SLPs should stick with the iPad until more applications have been made universal for systems.
OneAndOnly Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I have an iPad mini and never use it. Quite a few of my classmates like the regular iPad for clinic and class. I only take my mini in when I know I won't need my actual macbook but that's rare.
