boneh3ad Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 About how many graduate credit hours is it wise to take per semester? I am sure there are some differing opinions here, but I would like to hear them.
publicpolicy79 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I think your advisor and the people in your program would be best able to advise you on this, and I think it varies per person. For instance, one professor I have talked to really thinks that I can carry more than the typical load (9 credits) per semester because I have 10 years of work experience, so he thinks I can better juggle the worlkload, but he might now advise other people the same. So I'd just ask around at TAMU (which is where I am also headed, incidentally!).
IOPsych83 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 usually 9-10 hours. Obviously I am only familiar with my program, but we take between 9-10 and it is similar for other I/O programs.
rising_star Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 The most I've taken is 4 classes at a time, plus whatever 1 credit thing we have to do. So I think the max I've been enrolled in is 14 credit hours at a time. It was a pain come finals because I had a lot of long papers to write.
