redapple1993 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Hi! I am currently making a list of schools I am applying for Fall 2015. I am applying to two Health Admin Programs and then 4 MSW social work programs. I am a bit worried whether I have a chance or not to get into my programs. My concern is that my gpa is low (3.1) due to me doing not so hot my first two years( and I have ADHD if that helps with anything) . While my gpa is low I have done other things to boost my resume. Some of the things include a internship with a mental hospital and I have work in two research labs. I have really good letters of rec and then I will have over 200 hours of volunteer work with homeless children. I also have studied abroad I am also planing to take the GRE just in case my GPA is a huge factor. ( i feel like I would due average on the GRE) Oh and my major is Psychology with a minor in Business Well anyways here are the programs I am applying to: University of Colorado - Denver MBA Health Adm NYU MPA Program Portland State University - MSW Denver MSU - MSW San Diego State University - MSW University of Washington - MSW Please let me know what you guys think and also any advice or info about the schools would be helpful Many thanks!
HKsai Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I think you should definitely try and apply to all of them. Although I have experience with people that are doing the msw program at uw (I'm from Seattle). They have stellar GPA and gre, they accept a decent amount of people I must say but the three people that I know that are in the program has a ugpa 3.7+ and gre around 75%+. Hope this helps! redapple1993 1
