Michigan Tech

Anyone have any experience with Michigan Tech's Rhetoric and Technical Communication PhD program?  According to their website they have nearly a 100% placement rating, yet I can find very little information about them on the internet.  Can anyone here tell me about Michigan Tech?

Indeed I can.

I can't speak to their placement % (those numbers are regularly massaged anyways).  From my experience with the PhDs out of (Mi)Tech - its a bit more technical than other programs. I know the folks I know from there have friends from their graduating class who have done well outside of academia as well as several folks who went on to be big names (check out Cheryl Ball). 

Check out current research there - Robert Johnson has some interesting stuff.

I'm uncertain about the amount of support ($$$) -  I recall hearing it was "meh".

Thanks a lot.  It's nice to hear from someone I don't personally know on Tech.

 

I do have a friend who is just starting the master's there.  They said official funding isn't great, but they tend to have a bunch of classes available for grad students and said classes can add up to decent money.
