Guest lacrosse789 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Hey there! I'm hoping to apply to school psychology Ed. S. & PHD programs for the fall of 2015, and I'm hoping to find programs with specializations in trauma - esp. those with refugees. I know it's very specific and I'd find more in clinic psych. programs but I love working in the schools. So far the only program I've found is at Tulane University, and I'm worried that I'm being inflexible. Should I not have an interest this specific, especially in school psychology? thanks!
iPsych Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I think that it is possible to find school psych programs with faculty who have an interested in trauma (though, it will be hard to find those specifically interested in refugee-related traumas). Have you considered counseling psych programs? Counseling psychologists can work in schools after obtaining the necessary qualifications
