alison21 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Hi all, I have recently accepted an offer from a university on Apr 15, and the university have already processed my i-20. However today I just got a call from another university I applied to (who told me technical problems slowed down the app process and only now have they been able to make a decision about my acceptance). I understand that it's a little unethical to withdraw my acceptance of offer, but the second university offers a more suitable program in terms of cost and subject. Any advice on the appropriate way to withdraw? Are there any procedure I should follow? What will happen to the processed i-20? Thanks in advance.
snap Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I think, the school who just processed ur i-20 is the only one who can do anything about it, coz thats how the "sevis" system works. So u will have to ask the school who jsut processsed ur i-20 to send an i-20 forward form to the new school.
vincent Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I think this situation does not present any conflict. I have received an I-20 along with the admissions package from one school. But the school that I have chosen has still not sent my I-20 and I will just discard the I-20 from the other school. I already told them that I was not accepting their offer.
