MAXQDA vs MAXQDAplus?

I'm finally at the stage where I am ready to start coding and analyzing my qualitative research data (yaaay!!) and my committee has suggested that I use MAXQDA for this process. I'm so happy there is now a version for Mac, but I am debating between the regular MAXQDA program and MAXQDAplus. Has anyone else used MAXQDA or MAXQDAplus? Is the MAXQDAplus version worth the extra $20? 

 

And while I am asking, do any seasoned qualitative data analysts have any tips or suggestions for starting/living through the coding and analysis process? I'm a little bit freaked out about this next step...

I'm looking into these as well and am looking forward to any advise that other forum goers might be able to share
