Undergrad Textbooks?

I'm heading to the UK (from Toronto) to do my MA in Int'l Studies & Diplomacy at SOAS in September, and I've been looking online for answers as to whether or not to bring my 4th year undergrad textbooks (only the ones relevant to my field of study for post-grad, so about 7 or 8 thick books) all the way to London. I'm already worried about luggage space and the hassle, but I've read online and heard from friends that some of their textbooks from their last year of undergrad came in handy during their MAs.

I didn't take extremely detailed notes from the textbooks themselves, so a digital copy of the most important information isn't really doable unless I spend the next few weeks going through them again, so I'm wondering if anyone has any insight about this (particularly related to the social sciences?)

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I actually don't have much insight about if your books will be useful for your M.A.; however, I know in the US you can ship your items at a fairly decent price from the post office to your address (wherever you intend to move) in a box as long as it's under fifty pounds. This is through USPS in the states, but I'm sure UPS offers something similar if you wanted to take your books.

Do you have access to their library database yet? Maybe they have your textbooks at the library and you could borrow them if you need them?

Also, did you look into e-textbooks (if you are confortable reading on a computer screen)? Many textbooks are now available in pdf format. The library can have electronic versions too, I was surprised to find some of my grad school textbooks on the library website.
