redigloos Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I haven't taken the GRE yet (scheduled for August), or even begun any of my applications, so maybe this is a stupid question. If I am applying to both MA and PhD programs in the same department, then do I need to give them any sort of notice so they know they will need to use my GRE scores and letters twice? I'm guessing (hoping) I don't need to send 2 copies of the GRE score.
Vene Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Email the department and ask them but I would assume once is enough.I'd be more concerned that it would make them hesitant to admit you as a PhD student if you're also applying for their masters degree.
geographyrocks Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) Why would apply to both within the same department? A lot of schools will consider you for the masters if they don't think you're qualified for the PhD. Read over the application. It may even ask if you want to be considered for the masters if not admitted to the PhD. Edited July 13, 2014 by geographyrocks
vicky25 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 yes I dont think you will be allowed apply in both Masters and doctor's program at the same time either you are qualified to be a master's candidate or a doctoral candidate.
