praxismakesperfect Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Is anyone else the only person in their cohort? I am, and I'm a bit worried about it to be honest. Any advice?
Broken_Bottle Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I have not been told the exact class size yet but I can check how many people signed up for mandatory courses. We got access to the system more than a week ago and it is still only me. Last year had about 12 people, so in my case there is still hope. At least you know they will have time and be able to focus on you. One of my undergrad profs said that happened to her when she was a student, and she loved it because her lecturers could focus on her needs
iphi Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Are you sure you're the only one? Has someone told you that or are you just going off of class sizes? In my program everyone signs up right away, but in my SO's they only sign up the day before, or sometimes even after the class has started! It could just be that no one has signed up yet.
biisis Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 On the other hand, it might mean that it's been a very bad year for the admissions committee, which casts a worrying light on the standing of the program. But that would perhaps be an overly pessimistic thing to focus on. Broken_Bottle is right- you'll get lots of individualized attention, much to your benefit.
