Hello yall,

I'm getting close to finishing my PhD and I'm starting to think about what comes next. My topic relates to post-WWII U.S. history. I have two articles and five book reviews (two reviews in grad journals) published, one co-authored article in the history of medicine we just sent out, and another that I'll send out within the next month. None of these articles are chapters taken form the dissertation.

I've presented at a few conferences and one of my papers got an award at a major international conference (which, I've been told, is a big deal). My topic has received virtually no attention in the scholarship, so the dissertation should hopefully offer something quite new.

Finished my coursework in September 2012 and expect to finish by the end of 2015, summer 2016 at the latest.

No teaching experience. Been getting a full ride in exchange for some sporadic RA work.

I have three more side-projects on the go and already been thinking about and gathering material for a second monograph.

I hear that the job market is pretty grim, but I'm not prepared to land in some obscure US/Canadian university and would prefer to stay in Europe (UK, France, Italy, Spain, possibly Germany, Holland).

Thoughts?

Cheers
