Jordy1115 Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 This question is for the people who got accepted. First off congratulations! When did you guys turn in your application? Was at the very end of September or early September ?
mgm1123 Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 keysmith, I am region 10 too and havent heard anything yet, last name starts with M. Still crossing my fingers though, good luck to you & everyone else!
Porter-Slp Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Right there with you keysmith!!! Just staying patient!
Erack Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 I submitted mine at the end of September.
SLPtobee Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 I'm in, too!! I got my acceptance letter at 3:12 today. Region 11, last name starts with D, submitted my application mid September. Congrats to everyone, and good luck to those still waiting!
ReagorSmith Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 For those of you who have been accepted, have you already contacted schools for sponsorship? The letter of intent requires school information and I have not yet contacted any schools. I just received acceptance yesterday and had no idea I would be required to have schools lined up before the holiday break.
Jeana Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Congrats to all of you who are in!!!! Today is going to be a long day for me! LOL. I hope this doesn't drag on into next week. I just want to know either way. ReagorSmith, I thought that the ESC was responsible for helping those who were accepted do all that stuff. I remember thinking at the mandatory meeting that I felt relived to know they would be making all these arrangements. Maybe I'm wrong though.....
SLPtobee Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 It was my impression that the applicants were responsible for lining up their own sponsorship, although I could be wrong. I think you have until April or so to get a sponsorship agreement. The Acceptance Form might just be to find out if you have any leads. I am already an SLP-A and employed by my sponsoring district, so it wasn't an issue for me. You might call Sue and ask, though.
keysmith Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Congrats to everyone who are in!! Jeana i'm with you..today is going to be a long day for me too! For everyone that did get accepted, did the status change on the webadvisor? Did you receive the letter via mail or were you just informed via email?
trix Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 I am in region 10 last name starts with an A and still no word . I am sick to my stomach!
SLPtobee Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 I was sent a formal acceptance letter via email, and asked to return an acceptance form via email or fax. My status still says "Awaiting Department Review" on WebAdvisor, though.
keysmith Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Thanx SLPtobee, I have faith..mine is on the way!
mlmarin Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 ReagorSmith- I am in the same boat as you! I have not contacted any schools districts due to the same reasons... I do believe we are suppose to contact them on our own.
lscain Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 ReagorSmith, I hadn't contacted any school districts yet either, but when I got my acceptance email yesterday I contacted the special ed and speech coordinators for my district to see what I needed to do. The speech coordinator said she was in charge of TETN and set up a time for me to meet with her next week. Keysmith, I got an email too and my status on Webadvisor still says awaiting department review.
