Looking for other applicants in my shoes working towards the Nov 1st deadline for the Fall 2015 class. I've already noticed a discrepancy with the SOP prompt found in their Fall 2015 Application Checklist (400 word limit) and the Application Management System (500 word limit). Also wondering about your thoughts on essay question #2 "Describe yourself to a future employer."  Seems like a cover letter that would usually precede a professional resume?

Hi andl2ew! Seems they's fix the word limit problem...I'm also confused by the second question, does it mean to write a cover letter assuming that we've already graduated from SIPA? I'm applying the MPA with the energy and environment concentration..have tried to email the admission office?

@yeifeiyu2 I asked the same question to the admissions office. They said the cover letter technique is AN approach but I didn't inquire about the "context" of the essay of whether it should be pre- or post-SIPA.  They also said that it should logically tie-in with your SOP and resume (I think they are hinting at addressing the employer/position you talk about in your SOP).

If the intent of the application is to learn every aspect of the candidate, I assume we should talk about or maybe expand on areas not adequately addressed in the rest of the application (SOP, Resume, Quant/Lang Resume, etc.).

When they reply to you, please share!

Thanks @andl2ew! Guess I'll be writing what complement with my other materials most, while frame it like a cover letter. Will post it here when I got the reply, cheers

Hey! I also applied ED. Too bad I didn't see this post earlier. I'll also let you know if I receive any notification from Admissions Office, although I am concerned because I exceeded the 400 word-limit in the first essay.
