CharterVanilla Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Sorry if this has been asked before. I'm gathering all my writing samples, statements of purpose etc. into individual folders for all my applications. I was curious as to the best way to name these files? None of my applications state specific labeling guidelines. Right now, my writing samples are saved as the title of the paper - should I change them to something more generic such as: Last Name Writing Sample? Tips and advice would be appreciated. :]
fuzzylogician Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I try to be as helpful as possible to the people who are going to be looking at my application. They will be seeing lots and lots of them, so I want to make it as easy as possible for them to go through my files. For file names, I use: LaseName-DocumentName (e.g. Logician-CV.pdf, Logician-SOP.pdf, ...) For each actual document, I use headers and footers: - top left: my full name; - top right: name of document (CV, statement of purpose, etc), identifiably related to the file name; - bottom middle: page X of Y. TakeruK Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I basically did exactly the same thing as fuzzy!
