KatieinNewYork Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Hello! I'm a newbie here. I'm planning to apply for Fall 2010 MSW programs, currently I'm narrowing down the list of schools I'd like to apply to. I can supply more info if that would help, but... My interests lie heavily on the advocacy/policy side of social work, rather then clinical. A lot of the schools I've looked at have great clinical programs, and less developed macro-level programs. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for schools that have good advocacy/policy programs? Thanks!
michigan girl Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 You will want to consider the well-known social work programs for policy/advocacy type work such as Michigan, WashU, Columbia, and UCLA.
lsh37421 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Check out Penn's Sp2 School. They have an MSW, but also a Masters in Social Policy program. In fact you could get both degrees in 2 years if you go the dual degree route.
michigan girl Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 I also recommend University of Michigan. They have a Social Policy and Evaluation (MSW) program as well as dual-degree option with Ford School of Public Policy (emphasis on Domestic Social Policy, International Policy, Nonprofit and Public Management, etc.)
