Jackson, MS

Hi. Does anyone have information about this city? I was thinking of applying to Jackson State University, however, I do not know if racism is still a big thing there because I am not white, I am Asian.

I think this is an interesting question seeing that Jackson State is a historically black university (HBCU); you'd think one would be concerned with facing racism for not being black than for not being white.

I'm born and raised in Jackson and received my masters s from Jackson state i went to usm undergrad (great great school) There are many different races besides blacks at jsu. Especially asians... i have seen a few whites. There are also other colleges within the surrounding areas like belhaven, ms college and milsaps but jsu is pretty big. I am not sure if you needed to know anything else. Umm I currently live on the outskirts of Jackson in brandon ms they have a lot of surrounding towns.
