Chandru1 Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 I found out that I am theoretically able to graduate this winter, instead of in the spring as normally planned. I'm wondering if there is anything I need to think about on the admissions side before graduating early. Will committees like the dedication and fast-paced learning, dislike the fact that I would not take the spring quarter for enriching classes and improving my GPA, or would they just not care? Thank you in advance!
caterpillar Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Normally I would say that it wouldn't have an impact on your application either way, but if your GPA is 3.03 as written in your signature, it may be worth taking that extra quarter and seeing if you can inch the GPA up a bit.
Chandru1 Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 I see. Thank you for your input! That's one of the main reasons I want to stay until spring.
lookwhoslp Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 I agree with the person above... Plus now you can take classes that may be more interesting to you but still related to the field... like in education, psych, linguistics. They all would look good. See if your school offers classes that would help you get licensure to work in the schools after you have your Masters (if your state requires teacher licensure to work in the schools, that is). Then you can take those classes before you're even in the Masters so you're already set.
