Reapply for the school but PhD program?

Hi guys,

 

I got admitted to the MA program two years ago but turned it down. Now I am gonna to apply to the PhD program they offer. Will there be some negative influence and do I need to mention or explain it in my PS/SoP?

This should not be a problem at all. Did you complete a master's degree elsewhere? If so, why did you decide not to complete the PhD that they offer? This might be the only question that you should address in your SOP. - Admissions Advice Online
