fran12 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, so first of all, I'll introduce myself. I'm from the Midwest and got an B.A. in Spanish in 2006. I'm currently researching PhD and M.A. programs (both in the U.S. and abroad) and hope to apply in December 2009. Does anyone out there have any experience applying to/participating in programs in comparative literature or Latin American studies? Any tips about schools, writing samples, recommendations, and the process in general would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
rising_star Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I didn't apply to programs in either, but have experience with both. If you google, there's an university that has a list of almost every Latin American Studies program in the US. Where exactly you should go really depends on what your interests are. If you're unsure about whether to do comparative literature or Latin American studies, maybe you should do a master's degree in one field or the other.
