Aleem Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 GRE score breakdown: 141 V 151 Q waiting for AWA and Toefl scores. GPA 75.5, 3 national paper presentations done, Strong SOPs and moderate LORs. Could you evaluate my profile and let me know the safe and moderate universities to apply for? B.Tech in Electronics and Communications, having 2 years of experience as a Technical Support Engineer. Let me know if you need anything else? Thanks in advance
History98 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 That GRE score is very very low and will probably not meet the minimum GRE cutoff score for most universities, what I suggest to you is that you retake the GRE.I also got a low score and will be retaking the GRE in december, I emailed the universities and asked them if it was OK for my scores to reach them after their 15December deadlines and most of them replied saying it was OK. You should retake and try to get at LEAST AWA3.5, Q160, V155
Aleem Posted November 20, 2014 Author Posted November 20, 2014 Thank you for your suggestion. I don't think I would retake GRE, are there any universities that suit my profile?
starofdawn Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 There are a few California State schools that do not require the GRE, I would suggest looking into those.

What are my prospects for getting admissions. Which universities should I consider..? Look at your specific school program admission requirements to get a better idea on the minimums or averages if stated. The combined 310 is a minimum for a school like Texas A&M in my program. But that writing score of a 3 worries me if you are an international applicant. I have seen a couple of schools posting needing a 4 for international applicants for my schools. Try these websites for chemical engineering university rankings. The first one lists a average Quant score (old GRE). http://www.university-list.net/us/rank/univ-20131044.htm http://best-engineering-colleges.com/chemical-engineering/master
